Our story: Why we care

At Own Chair Home Care, we believe that senior care should be about more than just tasks. It’s about preserving dignity, fostering human connection, and allowing individuals to thrive in the comfort of their own homes. Discover what drives us to serve the local community.

Our inspiration: Seeing the real need

Our journey began by observing a crucial gap in senior care. We saw our loved ones, neighbors, and local seniors struggling with the loss of independence. The stress on families when parents were rushed out of hospitals or received brief, task-focused home visits was evident.

Seniors don't want to be "managed" or forced out of their homes. What they desire most is simple yet profound: to remain in the homes they built, sitting in their own favorite chair, keeping their keys, and following their familiar daily routine. This realization fueled the creation of Own Chair Home Care.

Fixing what’s broken in senior care

Many national franchises treat home care as a transactional process, rotating different caregivers through a senior's home each week. Public support systems are often stretched too thin to provide unhurried companionship.

Own Chair Home Care was founded to offer the exact opposite: a boutique, local agency where care is unhurried, caregivers are familiar faces, and dignity always comes first. We believe in building lasting relationships, not just ticking boxes.

Our commitment: Dignity over tasks

At Own Chair Home Care, we do not measure care by checked boxes on a chart. We measure it by how comfortable, safe, and respected a senior feels sitting in their own favorite chair in their own home. Every visit is at least three hours long, allowing our caregivers ample time to sit, listen, share a cup of tea, and build real relationships.

For families, this means complete peace of mind. You will have consistent, familiar caregivers, transparent updates, and the confidence that your loved one is cared for with the same warmth and respect you would provide yourself.

"Choosing Own Chair Home Care gave me back my role as a daughter, not just a caregiver. The peace of mind is invaluable."
